The Acoustic Showcase takes place in the Café Bar of Norwich Art Centre, 51 St. Benedicts St, Norwich, NR2 4PG.
More information about the venue can be found at www.norwichartscentre.co.uk
The Showcases are held once a month and the artists that perform are selected in advanced. We are always on the look out for new performers.
To submit a request to perform, please contact us.
The showcases begin at 1pm and consist of 4 acts, each playing a 25 minute set. We would request that performers arrive between 12pm & 12.30pm if they require a sound check or have special PA requirements. Performers are requested to arrive before 1pm so that we are able to confirm the line up for the showcase. If performers arrive after 1pm, without contacting us by email before 10am on day of show or by telephone between 10am & 1pm on day of show, we may give their slot to another performer. If you cannot attend please let me know as soon as possible, so that I can make alternative arrangements, and get new publicity out.
We do not charge the audience to enjoy the showcases and therefore we are unable to pay performers to play at the showcases.
This is an acoustic event, but there is a PA system, so microphones and DI inputs are supplied. Electric bass guitars and electric pianos are acceptable and will be DI'd, but please only use acoustic or electro acoustic 6 and 12 string guitars, no electric 6 or 12 string guitars please. Percussion needs to be kept in line with a stripped down acoustic set, so no full drum kits please. If in doubt, please contact us to discuss your instrumentation.
This is a café bar venue, not a folk club, so please expect a minimum amount of hubbub going on during performances.
We do however ask people to keep their chatter to a minimal level, especially on the balcony.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING EXTRA EQUIPMENT OTHER THAN YOUR INSTRUMENTS- SPACE IS AT A PREMIUM !!
I REPEAT – NO AMPS.
